OT: Woodson out

I am saddened, potentially bad for NU. Though as much as IU has botched their hirings, there is a good chance they can do worse.

IU’s recent history of hiring Coaches is abysmal. I too don’t have a lot of confidence in IU getting the right Coach and then having patience with that Coach to change the culture.
Is the recent hiring of their new football coach "abysmal?" I'm asking - did something bad happen there?
Or are you talking specifically about basketball?

Indiana's AD is Scott Dolson who got the job in July of 2020. He was an internal promotion who had been at IU for 11 years in various roles, including athletic department COO. (Sounds like an accountant to me, but I don't know him).
When Dolson hired Mike Woodson out of the NBA in 2021, Dolson immediately created an Assistant AD job for Thad Matta - specifically for basketball. Apparently, Woodson had zero understanding of all the NCAA rules around running a program. Matta left for Butler in the spring of 2022.

My guess is that Indiana is going to pay big money for a top coach, like TJ Oetzelberger (although Iowa State has tried to lock him up)
Indiana is still a premium opportunity. But I do hope they screw it up yet again.

I thank him for the nice technical he provided to NU a few years ago when he grabbed ref by the arm. Believe we won that game by two also!

I enjoy NU's recent history with the Hoosiers and I look forward to continuing the winning. I suspect Indiana fans will never have the patience for a coach to build a consistently winning roster in the modern NCAA, unless he gets all the NIL money ever.

I am talking specifically about Indiana basketball. They are entitled to be a top 5 team in the nation, just ask them.
