I'm so narrow, all I have thought about is the impact of this new areas on Men's BB and Men's recruiting. (sexist, I know.)

Any one have anything to say about how it will effect other programs? Surely if it enhances Men's BB and recruiting it will be the similar for Women, Right?. Do other sports play there? Volleyball?

Will this arena draw more tournament action from local, state and national sports? That would raise NU's profile. Other events beside sports? Other revenues?

Anyone have thoughts about this?

Coach Joe said yesterday that he has already gotten texts and calls from recruits and from competitor programs (!). So I'd say it will have a positive effect on WBB. My guess is that it will be a plus for VB and Wrestling but much less so than for hoops. Both of those coaches seemed pleased at the presser. Dr. Jim mentioned the use of WRA for high school playoffs, ETHS graduation, and NU Graduation ceremonies, but that already happens so no incremental benefit.

Big step up for volleyball. Coach Davis spoke about how busy he had been in the past couple days managing calls and messages that he has received. Some B1G schools have volleyball specific venues with smaller capacities (e.g. Purdue - Holloway Gymnasium seats approximately 2,500). Most Coaches would prefer not being lost in a huge arena. And want to create a strong home crowd atmosphere. Few schools have a following like Nebraska.

On a separate note, I would think the Coaches and athletes will greatly appreciate air conditioning!

Volleyball, womens basketball, wrestling will be big winners... WR has plenty of seats for attendance while the Locker Room upgrades, training rooms etc will be very attractive to recruits

Pulling the curtains over the upper level does a nice job of creating a more intimate environment for WBB and volleyball. I assume they'll continue to do something like that with the new configuration.

Wrestling has made some great strides this off season bringing in a couple of highly though of assistant coaches.
Things should be looking up next year if they can stay healthy.

I'm hoping that whatever they do will be better than the old black curtain. I have heard that basketball arena seating can be configured and moved in and out like bleachers now.
