I've been following Northwestern basketball since 2004 (football since 1995) and tonight I learned something brand new. Otto Graham came to Northwestern on a basketball scholarship, not football. He was an All-American in basketball in 1944. I had no idea. I always thought he was strictly a football player. Based upon what I can tell, he's in the argument for second best basketball player in school history (with Max Morris and Evan Eschmeyer) behind only Joe Reiff (our only player that has won All-American awards in basketball multiple times). Would people agree with that last statement?

Otto Graham is the only person to make All American first team in both basketball and football in the same season

Otto 's picture on the wall at Welsh Ryan arena looks like Brian McIntosh. Old school haircut

How 'bout Billy McKinney, Ray Ragelis, Juice Thompson, and who the kid from Gordon Tech who was 6-2 and played like he was 6-7?
