Have really shown some good stuff. They fill a need while our youngsters get acclimated to the Big10. I love our freshmen recruits and think they have great potential, but we are fortunate to have a couple of solid experienced guys that can take quality minutes.

Ryan Taylor is an experienced guy who is not shy about taking the ball into traffic or shooting. AJ Turner also looks like a solid player. Against Michigan they both played well, while the freshmen still sometimes look lost out there on the court.

I think Turner and Taylor stumbled early. Turner on offense, and Taylor was an early disaster on defense. A few quick fouls and the player he was covering had a quick 7 pts. That said, to my amazement, both of these guys seemed to arrive later in the game. Turner was initially pulled for Greer after a few space cadet plays on offense, but he shook things off and played a helluva game on defense and offense later on. Taylor, played his best defense ball of the season after he got burned early, and he finally developing more confidence on offense.

Yea, the freshmen need SERIOUS experience on defense. Kopp was simply awful on defense and it became impossible for Collins to use him after the 12 minute mark of the first half. Great shot but dude just can't give up the baseline and layups. Nance is a bit behind Kopp. Dude is a deer in headlights at this point and doesn't play like he thinks he belongs. Not his fault, he just has to learn.
