There will be a pair of big-time prospects on campus as Northwestern resumes spring practice on Tuesday after a two-week layoff for spring break.
Three-star superback Grant Calcaterra will be in Evanston on Tuesday to watch the Wildcats practice, as will sophomore quarterback Tadas Tatarunas.
Calcaterra, a Santa Margarita (Calif.) Catholic star with an impressive offer list, will spend the day on campus as one of the stops on his tour of the Midwest. He visited Oklahoma over the weekend and Michigan on Monday. After leaving Evanston, the No. 40 athlete in the nation is expected to travel to Notre Dame, Indiana and Kentucky.
The 6-foot-4, 240-pounder received his offer from Northwestern on Feb. 29. He also has scholarship tenders from 17 other schools, including Florida, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas A&M.
Tatarunas is a 6-foot-4, 200-pounder from Mentor (Ohio) who is already drawing interest from several Big Ten programs. The Class of 2018 standout threw for 2,963 yards for Mentor in 2015, with 24 touchdowns and 12 interceptions, according to MaxPreps. He completed 62.6 percent of his passes and averaged 246.9 yards per game.
