I was just wondering if anyone knew whether Pete and Ayo are on campus now 6/24 Sat.? I haven't seen any notices on recent threads yet on how they are having the times of their lives and hopefully will decide to commit to NU very soon along with THT and Lathon- who were on campus earlier in the week? Does anyone have any intel/recon on this?

Believe it's scheduled for Tuesday.

Haywood,
Do you think the loss of Baldwin puts us on the outside looking in with THT. I think he could be the best of the group with his position flexibility and skill set. Hopefully Collins, Gates and Donlon (presumably) can convince him to join

Note that Baldwin was the lead recruiter for Jordan......I think the head coach is the key for players the caliber NU is now recruiting.

i don't think CCC goes with ayo with lathon commited. just don't see it from a roster standpoint. i think nance is realistic. kopp is realistic. maybe tucker if were lucky. and 4th unknown.

Why all the pessimism about Horton Tucker. I think he is a very realistic target. Haywood you seem to have a pulse in the inner circle. Is there something the rest of us don't know?

^ Yeah, doesn't hurt that Jordan and Horton-Tucker are buds.

both of you are right. he would be a big get - and from what I know the staff has a great relationship with Tucker as does Lathon

but CCC and the NU staff still need to get a CPS star to blaze his own trail and come to NU rather than head to all the normal CPS landing spots. Hopefully Tucker can start the pipeline.

Just out of curiosity- does anybody know what kind of student THT is? I guess to get a NU offer, his grades must be pretty decent. I hope he won't be tenative to come to NU because of the rigorous academics. Is that why some CPS players go other places? I hope he realizes that there are some really good tutors for athletes to help them keep up- especially during the seasons. One of my best friends while at NU was a CPS grad. He got even better grades than me and went on to medical school after graduation.

Getting into NU is the hard part. Once you're in it's no more challenging than any other school. I'd even argue it's easier because the teachers are better and more engaging, with smaller classes typically.

My daughter was a scholarship athlete at NU-she got every course she wanted and had tutors in every subject she wanted.

My son was a scholarship athlete at UVA. He needed a lab type course to receive his degree in Finance. He was assigned the afternoon class that conflicted with practice-tough luck-no degree in Finance

If you get in NU you can sail through

He just did, it looks like. I have to think it helps.

Sorry, I'm behind on this one. Why does it help NU's chances? Limited roster spots at UoM? Do they play the same position? I could research it, of course, but if you know, I'd be grateful. Thanks!

They play the same position.

If I am not mistaken, Nance has a scheduled visit to Michigan, I believe it is July 1. Do you think he will take the trip?

Depends upon whether UoM is still recruiting him. If they are, he goes because he has nothing to lose and its free.

Note that UoM also have a 2019 PF commit.......of course Wagner will probably leave for pro ball after this season so they will have PT available.

Expecting and happening are two different things. I hope Nance chooses the cats. He then has the opportunity to be coached by Brian James who has worked and developed the games of many NBA players. Pardon has a chance to play in the league if he continues to develop his game

In all seriousness, are UM fans still expecting Nance to pick UM even with another similarly-ranked recruit at the same position committing in the same week? I'm not saying they should or should not, but this feels like Lathon/Ayo was for NU this week. While Ayo would've been awesome, the two sides realized it was DEFINITELY not going to happen once Lathon committed. I feel like whatever chance Nance had for picking UM surely went down at least a little with this announcement.

Yes um is taking a large class and could take up to 3 wings. Johns is the only one to commit thus far.
