Quincy game thread

47 points to quincy? Does the D look that bad or is the pace of the game just that quick?

At times they've looked sloppy. It's hard to tell, because the game has never been close and they haven't held that intensity all game. Definitely something for Collins to address.

Not very impressive at all. Only win by 16. The D looked really bad... just very little intensity. That needs to change. And anyone thinking Olah is going to be a stud this year may be disappointed. Other than Falzone's shooting, not much to be happy about tonight.

Missed the first half. Getting into offense was way too tough in 2nd half. Quincy was over-playing the ball. Backdoor cuts and back screens were there. Cats turned it over way too much.

1) Falzon can really play. I have a feeling he will get top-5 minutes even if he doesn't start most games.

2) Van Zegeren is really athletic, I think he can be a force around the rim as a rebounder and with putbacks. Don't love trying to post him up, though.

3) Ash looks really skinny out there. Don't know if he can be much help against B1G players this year.

4) Everything else was OK. Quincy banked in some 3s to make it look a little better, but the defense wasn't great. Also some sloppy ball handling by us, getting stripped too easy. Overall, thought it was fine for an exhibition.

Yeah...we'll look better. Waaaay too early to worry. The game was never close, and the last five minutes with Skelly/Pardon/Ash out there was dropped like 8 points off our lead. Demps looks like he's hyped for a good year. BMac will be fine. Falzon looks to be a stud. The rest of the guys did okay, except Olah, who looked rough. Interested to see the main rotation...

Still unhappy that we can't really force turnovers against a DII team. Hopefully it was just the circumstances.

I was really impressed with Van Z. He looked much better than Olah IMO.

They banked in at least four shots from distance by my count. At least two of those were threes. That's 10 points, which would have made it a 26-point game.

If I had to pick, of bigger concern to me is free throwing. That should have nothing to do with 1) new personnel, 2) first-game jitters, or 3) opponents. It's strangely been a problem for us given that most of the guys who miss them (JVZ excepted) are good shooters.

We must not dedicate any time to them in practice. Too busy running no dunk layup lines ;)
