Ramblers!!!!!

I’m in disbelief Sister Jean is now an American icon. Congrats loyolacat and Sister Jean!

Now this clown that is actually in the Knoxville media is on Twitter with a F*$k Sister Jean tweet. SMH, worse fan base around and that is saying something.

Some Vols fans on twitter were saying much worse, if you can believe it. Gave me flashbacks...

Way to go Ramblers!

When I was at NU a lot of time was spend at the college dives around Loyola. Never had a bad experience, even met a few fine ladies.

There was also some kind of exchange program between the Northwestern and Loyola radio tv departments. There was often a Loyola kid in our NU class and I know several NU guys who took the El down for a class or two at LU. And they had a great college radio station at Water Tower downtown - 88.7 Hitline!

I have always rooted for that program and am delighted about their run.

Go Ramblers Go! Go Sister Jean!

It is nice to see Loyola advancing. I remember well the championship in 1963, which was the last year I lived in Illinois. They were really the talk of the town that year. I think the dominance of UCLA shortly after that championship totally changed the face of the tournament. Hope it will be NU to the Sweet 16 before long.

I remember that '97' Citrus Bowl and listening to that damn Rocky Top way toooo many times.......so a little gift from the Ramblersssssss

I remember listening to Red Rush (?) call the Ramblers games in the 60's. He had a nickname for every player and unless you knew the kids you would have been in the dark.
Ajax to Corky ,backdoor to the Cisco Kid-it's in and that's "swella like a loaf of Gonella"

"He's Ajax 'cuz he cleans the boards."

And after a shot rimming out: "In-again, out-again Finnegan!"

Yep, that was Red Rush.

As the old joke goes, an old bearded guy in heaven is walking around in a nun’s habit. Somebody asks St. Peter who the old guy is. St. Peter says ‘Oh, that’s God. He thinks he’s Sister Jean.’
And now the Ramblers play freakin’ Nevada.

I was there also and still hate that dam song. Thanks Ramblers!
I was there also, and felt like I was in the middle of the cast of Deliverance! My wife and I moved to another section, but we couldn't find poor Ned Beatty. The Vol fans at that game were the dirtiest crudest people I've ever seen at a football game. Interesting game though. Tennessee scored the first 21 behind Manning and we scored the next 21 behind Darnell.

Wow....some Red Rush fans here!!! Just found my vinyl copy of the Championship game call by Red Rush,,,,in solemn tones " ITs David vs Goliath" and do not forget "it goes through for two for Big Larue" referring to Laure Martin who ended up being the #1 NBA pick in 75? Not a very illustrious career but a good guy who still comes to games. I hope that Dave Eanet gets to call two championship games...football and basketball.

That was one of the cleanest, highest level, most entertaining games I've seen in years. Both of those teams should be proud. And if Loyola were in a bigger conference, they'd have been a top 20 team and a top 4 seed, not that it matters at this point. Excellent defense, precise passing, great movement without the ball, and highly efficient shot selection. Townes, Custer, and Richardson are all excellent, making up for relatively quiet games from Ingram and Krutwig.

That team's just plain good.

They make a great case for the mid-majors. I hope Michigan's undressing of Texas A & M tonight will help point out the folly of selecting all these Power 5 teams with 9-9 and 8-10 conference records. They might win a game or two, but have no more chance to win the tourney than a good mid-major.

I’ve made a lot of money betting on MVC teams in March the last dozen years. Drake and the undefeated WSU team were the only times I lost.
