Unless his team does surprisingly well in the upcoming NFL playoffs, NU's own Rashawn Slater is heading back to the Pro Bowl after winning the vote for the top offensive tackle in the AFC. Congratulations Rashawn!!

Slater has been a leading left tackle in the league since his debut as a rookie protecting Herbert’s blind side. I think he also won a rookie award. Chargers might go deeper than people believe, especially if some of their injured top starters return in time for the playoffs.
Over the last couple of years, his name in national NFL circles has gone from mentioning him as an exception young player and excellent draft pick to one of the couple names you casually toss out there when you just want to reference a quintessential elite franchise left tackle. He’s that good. It’s not unreasonable to say he has legitimate HoF career potential at this point, he’s as good as it gets.
I bought the NFL Ticket just to see the Chargers & Lions games. I watch Slater on every offensive play. His footwork and technique are exceptional.
I saw on one site, he was rated #2 in NFL , behind Trent Williams but in another he was # 9 OT , even behind Penei Sewell , who plays right tackle

Lions center, Frank Ragnow, also made the Pro Bowl. Ragnow is another Kurt Anderson disciple, having played for him at Arkansas.
Anderson did a really nice job for our NFL linemen too: his coaching of Slater, Skoronski, and Ragnow proved that he can develop elite talent as well.
The new OL coach we have is solid too.
What hurt Anderson is the same thing that hurt other OL coaches at NU: the lack of a comprehensive system.
An offensive, defensive, or special teams philosophy is essential and relies ln leadership from the top.
Anderson was also an entertaining cat. I hope he is doing well.
Lujan will be more interesting with Preston Stone.

Sewell is an athletic freak. Just a joy to watch.
I’ve not seen Slater this year at all. Exciting that he’s healthy and dominant. Harbaugh only wins.
Slater and Joe Alt are an incredible pair of tackles. It will be fun to watch them in the playoffs
Nobody ever said he couldn’t coach. At least I hope not. He helped develop top level talent just like the new OL coach.
The offensive system didn’t work. It led to breakdowns.
Where is Anderson coaching now? He should land somewhere quickly
He could both recruit and develop… individual players. But he never successfully developed a quality overall unit, which was his job. Not saying he won’t elsewhere, he just didn’t at Nu.
I'd say this is a rest game, but LAC winning today matters as it gives them a much easier first round matchup.
Meh. Who cares. Keep Slater healthy for the postseason. We all know now that Coach Harbaugh is a winner
I still say we should have kept Anderson. He loved NU (dad was a coach here) and his players loved him and his recruiting was solid.
Yeah, win and they play a Houston team that's really struggled over the second half of the season, but lose and they go to Baltimore, which is on a four game winning streak and has the MVP at QB. Big game today for LAC.
He was supposed to play today but injured his knee during warmups so didn’t play. Chargers are coasting to a win anyway over the Raiders.
QB Herbert from Oregon is having a solid season, the offense scored on 7 possessions today.. Subs have stepped up today. Hopefully Rashawn will be healthy enough to start against Houston. Defense has been playing well. Solid regular season for the Chargers under Harbaugh.
