Rece Davis was interviewed on a radio show yesterday and told the host that he watched the entire game with interest. Some comments :
-He felt the game was great publicity for NU and for college football generally.
-He was impressed with the improvement NU showed on both sides of the ball, but particularly on offense.
-While he understood that Fitz’s 4Q decisions were to force UNL to beat them, he nevertheless thought Fitz was too conservative on the final possession. He felt that a play action pass would have worked and been in order.
-He feels the B1G West is wide open as to who will win it.
-He was amused by the free beer situation. (The host, who had attended the game, averred that this had augmented the NU faithful’s enthusiasm.)
-He was uncertain as to the timing of further conference consolidation, but felt this was inevitable.
-He picked Utah and OSU this weekend.
