Wow, guys. Take a step back and relax. It's just a betting line. I do have wonderful news for you though. It has no bearing on the outcome of the game! AND if you aren't a betting man, or if you don't like the line, you don't have to bet it. Yes, I'm full of great news this morning.

And while I have your attention, let's ignore the Michigan fan or two who are just over here to obviously troll (hint, hint, that Bubba character). I'm not much of a trash talker, but I have nothing against it to be honest. However, this guy's obviously just trying to push buttons and it seems to be working on many of you.

Here's what James Franklin thinks for point spreads:

We were 12 point underdogs to Stanford and beat them by 10. We were underdogs to Duke and beat them by 9. We were 5 point favorites over Minny and beat them by 27. These were all huge misses by Vegas. Take NU vs the spread. The last two seasons notwithstanding, we usually cover more often than not, even when we lose the game. The guy placing his bet in Vegas takes Michigan because the name pops out when he sees it. There's a "name premium" there that just isn't seen with NU. Take advantage of it.

And then there's Ball State...
I dont know why are fans cant loosen up. Nobody has said that the pt spread means a loss. Its a piece of information that i found interesting because it was so high at its +12 open that i suggested to me that michigan was fairly good if peeps were dropping money on them left and right. None of us are dummies and i really could care less what a coach may say about pointspreads. Pointspreads are for fans.

NU is a program that not many really have that much knowledge of. Plenty of Michigan fans who want to bet on their team and the odds makers just try to set the line so bets are even on both sides. This is what it took regardless of how good the teams are.

BTW the under covered each week as well.

Yeah, but then there was Ball State. We're not invincible against the spread, but in this case, give me NU with or without the points this weekend.
