Looks like we actually had 3 people responsible for Clark, but Vitale didn't chip and Konpka blocked no one. Anyone who knows more about analyzing these things, feel free to be frank if I am wrong.
My question involves the correct QB read on the play. None of our receivers ended up being all that open. Jones was double covered, Cam was tightly single covered, and Vitale was probably the only option had Simian not slipped and been able to throw weak side once strong side (Jones) was covered, which is the way that Skip Mylenski indicated that the play was designed.
However I did notice that Jones was NOT covered right away, by anyone. It looks like the proper read by Trevor once he saw Ryan charging at him was to throw the ball to Jones immediately. But would Jones have had the time to adjust in that situation?
