RIP Jim Brown

RIP! It’s a man’s world.

I grew up a Browns fan at the time Jim Brown was their running back. He had a fantastic pro career and also enjoyed his roles as an actor, esp. in movies like “The Dirty Dozen” a classic WWII movie. RIP.

As a child of the 80s/90s, my first interactions with Jim Brown were when he played Fireball in The Running Man and when he was the dad in Mars Attacks.

At times he would walk back to the huddle as if he might not make it all the way, but next play run through and over people like he just did the previous play. An original barrruute.

Pretty good social spokesperson, too.

RIP

Pretty good abuser of women as well.

My father had Browns season tickets from their first year of existence (before they joined the NFL). So I had the good fortune to see almost every game he played in Cleveland. In my opinion, he was the greatest running back ever - the combination of power and speed was special.

Richard Pryor used to do a hilarious riff on “my friend Jim Brown.”

What an amazing athlete. RIP

I think you may be confused?
It was a bad GIF joke after a long week.

I want to avoid RB material on The Rock, but Jim Brown had a very… let’s say complicated history.

He was an all world athlete; arguably the greatest football player ever whom I admittedly first saw in the classic film “Mars Attacks”. He was also heavily involved in the Civil Rights movement.

But, he also beat and allegedly sexually abused women. We’re all flawed but that’s one I have a hard time ignoring.
