Season is over

Everyone realize how valuable BMac is to this team now? No way we lose that with him out there. None.
Keep in mind that Rutgers was without its leading rebounder and second leading scorer. Two other players from the top six are just coming off injuries as well and not 100%. The difference between a team like NW being mediocre over the course of the season and being good, as well as the difference between a team like RU being at the bottom of the standings and being mediocre, is the depth to overcome it.

Gavin had a number of terrible plays tonight; have no idea what in the world he was doing out there.
Who would you rather take his spot? Having said that, I always thought he was overrated and won't be missed next season.

I’m a big Collins fan. But playing the last 20 minutes without a PG on the floor when one with a ton of experience is on the bench was an odd decision. Yes, I’m aware of doghouses, but that doesn’t make sense to me...also not fouling when up three. I think you have to foul when the game clock gets under 10 seconds and you are up 3. Not Collins’s best game tonight in my opinion.
Maybe use Brown because all else was failing but Brown is not a PG.

At least they had those guys coming off injuries. We did not.

If you go 1-5, you bat .200. That’s awful.

But your one single was pretty good when it happened. But then you add in the 0-4 and realize you had a really crappy game and at that rate you’ll be cut soon.

How bad is 0-13? With that record, you wouldn't even be asked to try out for a team. You'd be selling popcorn somewhere like Worcester, Massachusetts.

I remember when Manny Trillo finally got his average up to .200 and I was all like, "he's hitting the cover off of the ball."

I remember a season when he was hitting like .380 until the All-Star Break. Things were a little different afterwards.

Just what I was thinking about Bmac.

A couple of facts first...1) Rutgers got a nice win last night and deserved it. No argument there and no excuses from this NU fan. 2) McIntosh has had a tough year, partially due to some inconsistent play, but also due to some lingering injuries he has played through.

Those two facts out of the way, even if he is having an off night, McIntosh is by far the most important player on the offensive end for NU. The entire offense runs through him. And this isn't just because he's the point guard and he brings the ball up. We literally run everything with him starting the offense and he is a major part of pretty much all of our sets. Off night or not, losing him/having him play with one arm for the majority of the game was the biggest factor in the outcome of the game from either side (including the great play of Sanders).

Again, no excuses for the loss, but that's the reality of his importance in NU's offense.

I want to say he was hitting .396 deep into May.

Ryno started super slow too. His first year with the Cubs...believe he started at third base....he was hitting closer to .100 than .200 but then turned it around.

I understand what you saying. And please know that I was only responding to the silliness of your fellow NU fan who said the loss of Freeman was “addition by subtraction.” Freeman is second in scoring, first in rebounding, first in blocks and first in steals on the team. He is also leading in drawing fouls and has a knack for getting opposing bigs in foul trouble. Please note that my original point was that the lack of depth to play through an injury is the difference between NW being in the middle of the pack rather than the upper tier and RU being at the bottom rather than the middle.

Well, I am not on that list, but I agree with many that BMac has had a very disappointing senior season. In fact, I think each year after attending the Curry camp, his jump shot has gotten worse.

I actually agree with you there. I’m one that believes people lump players into a position based on size way too often. No doubt that Brown plays much more like an undersized 2. Good point.

I have always said the IB is a 2. He came from a place where he was the man. He doesn't have passing in his blood like a PG should. That is not his fault. Square peg meet round hole. And if that is what got him in the doghouse, shame on CCC for not recognizing the pieces when he recruited for his team.

Of course you are not on that list, since your player criticisms are reasonable...
