Iowa came out smoking and built a 43-21 lead, but NU came back a little bit and trails 45-28 at the half.

Jordan Bohannon is out of his mind for the Hawkeyes - he's 6-9 on 3s and has 20 points. They got a lot of open looks early and hit them all, it seemed, as NU's defense got shredded.

Lindsey has 11 points to lead NU. BMac appears to be hurt again and may not get off the bench again. He had three of NU's eight turnovers and two points before sitting down and not returning. Tino Malnati even got in the game instead of him.

On a positive note: After getting shut out vs. Wisconsin, NU's bench has nine points at the half - six from Benson (1) and three from Falzon. NU looked listless for a lot of the half, but Benson came to play tonight. It's the best he's looked all year.

Not sure BMac sitting is anything more than what we were discussing over on the first-half thread -- that this game doesn't mean anything for BTT seeding so why risk getting him re-injured.

They've been talking about McIntosh a lot, but where has Skelly been? Is he hurt too?

I hope he's not hurt, and it's just a case of playing for next year (and getting some film for Benson).

Wow, Scottie's hit 8 three-pointers.

Not a bad time for him to start getting hot.

I'm not dead yet. Great clutch shooting by Lindsey.
Too bad, so sad. Glad to see him, Vic Law, and McIntosh FINALLY graduate and the mildcats back out of NCAA tourney talk. Ever since Chris Collins picked Duke over Iowa in his recruiting process, I have despised him.

Vic Law is not graduating. Congrats on your 12th place finish, tho-- had to exceed expectations!

Speaking of sad, if Iowa hadn’t have won that game, now that would have been sad. NU played two starters and a seven man rotation the last 30 minutes of the game and really had nothing to play for from a standings stand point (PSU on Thursday win or lose).

Big win for Iowa to get out of last place though. Congrats to the entire Hawkeye program.

So sad that regardless of both Iowa's and N'Western's final records that neither will be playing NCAA tourney, unless Iowa gets on a hot streak in B10 tourney.

Your own site labels Vic Law a senior...too bad he's apparently not smart enough to graduate. :(

Lol, guess again. Pro tip; when you troll, you should do it from a position of strength. 12th place is not that position....

Good point mike. I think the rule of thumb is 11th place or better- so we’re clear just by the skin of our teeth.

Whew.

You know, this was such an excellent post, I take back what I said about Carmody. Not! Carmody sucks.

Both teams stunk this season for various reasons.

Give the 'Cats (as opposed to the Chicken-hawks) the greater chance of having a bounce-back season next year.
