Second-half thread for NU vs. Ohio State

Thank god the Buckeyes flat out suck at free throws. Nice win! Especially playing pretty badly!

I'll put it in the converse. We won this game with great freethrow shooting. Fantastic clutch shots by several guys. I know they are not the most exciting points, but.....Awesome!!!!

Northwestern went on 10-0 and 9-0 runs in the first half to lead 36-31 at the break.

Lindsey leads the way with 10 points, while BMac has 9. The Cats are just 3-13 on 3s, but they have gotten a lot of layups and have a 10-0 edge on points off turnovers as the Buckeyes have turned it over eight times. NU also has a 6-3 edge in offensive boards and have taken six more shots than the Bucks.
Some of the overreactions in these game threads are hilarious. Some of you need to take a walk during the game, DVR it and then only watch it if the Cats win.

Wildcat fans in Ohio celebrating. Lots of contributions to go around in gritting this HUGE win out. And how about Fitz and Phillips there to help celebrate with Collins? Happy for the team. But especially happy for Collins. He had options. And he chose Northwestern.

This was a game we would have lost in the past. I was going insane watching this game with all the missed opportunities, but our defense came through for us. Huge play from #12 towards the end. I love that we closed it out on the FT line and held off their 3-pt. shooting. What was Lumpkin thinking at the end. He just can't turn it off?

That's what I need to do. The cats and neighbors think I'm a raving lunatic.

More frustrating than missing so much from the arc were all the missed bunnies and the almost-rebounds that were in the hands of NU players (who just couldn't hold on).

The point is that no one should has been near that rebound, as the clock wound down. I'm sure that's what they were told during the TO.

Yeah, that's a good point, but it was still a horrendous call (one of many).

It's encouraging to see the instinct to get good position on the rebound though (even if it wasn't a smart play in that situation). This team is very fundamentally sound. I like that.

For as much as I'd like the team to shoot better, there's something to winning these grind-it-out games. I'll take it although it is hard to watch at times.

The refs sucked and was called in a lopsided manner. One example is when Vic law was called for a charge. Tate was moving his feet. Happened all day. These refs should be censured

Skelly also had a clean block that was called a foul. We got away with one when Lumpkin had an up and down that wasn't called.

When he came down, he did not have the ball in his hands. I thought it was the right no call.

Ya everyone in my hall can tell how the cats are playing by my reactions.

College refs in general are terrible. I thought it was really bad both ways today
