These first two weeks to me have proven that the defensive struggles the last couple of years were a lot about O’Neil. The talent is not overwhelming but they can play like a cohesive defense when put in a defensive scheme that enables them to play fast.

Yep. And honestly, that’s how our defense has always been, even in our best defensive years. We may have a guy or two that will play on Sundays, but we typically have been good on defense because they play as a unit.

You can’t get the best if you restrict who is on their staff. However, I sincerely hope that Braun is given a chance to stay on staff as DC after whatever happens in November/December/pleasenotJanuary.

He had the resume of a potentially good hire. And this team played darn hard today, and well.
