Sorta lost in yesterday's Rose Bowl (fun game) + Sugar Bowl (*yawn*) noise was UCF's Peach Bowl win over Auburn. The Knights knocked off #7 Auburn (yup, that Auburn who beat Georgia and Alabama) to wrap their season at 13-0.

In Frost's first season the Knights had a 6-7 campaign. In his second season UCF wins out, handling the SEC West Champion in the process. And now Frost and the whole of his coaching staff are off to Lincoln.

Hoo boy.

And I am thinking that Frost; first season at Nebby will be a lot like his first season at UCF.

His two recruiting classes at UCF were fairly pedestrian on paper, and dominated by FL kids. He did pull a 4* RB out of Memphis, as well as NU target Otis Anderson. He will have to take a broader strategy at UN. He is obviously aware of that, being a grad of the program. He has work to do in Lincoln.

Indeed, it got lost in the tide and the kennel.

You are so right to shine a bright light here. Frost has the potential to be to Nebraska as Fitz is to Northwestern, and perhaps a whole lot more. If successful, he could rival the likes of Kirk Ferentz, Barry Alvarez, Fitz or Mark Dantonio in terms of tenure. For all of the turnover in Nebraska we easily forget that Tom Osborne was there for twenty-five years.

Frost is a great recruiter, great eye for talent, and a very good coach. He nationally recruited at Oregon so he has many places to get talent from. His UCF head coaching job opened Florida up for him to recruit. I expect Nebraska to get very good fairly quickly. Look what Brohm has done so far at Purdue with Hazels recruits. The West is getting upgraded.
