Anyone watching this Warriors game? Spencer ejected for head butt on Sengun. Spencer had 11 points!

Spencer and the Warriors backups played better than the starters tonight. Pat was 5 of 7 shooting and had four rebounds prior to his ejection.

The only thing I cared about in the NBA playoffs was watching the Lakers get drubbed. That meant saying bye - bye to that arrogant, self entitled, uneducated buffoon, Lebron James.
You can hate who you like but how is the all-time leading scorer and one of the 10 best players in NBA history self-entitled?

I don’t pay attention to what he says but I think he has been pretty scandal free in his career and private life.

I am always happy to see the Lakers lose, though.

He's self-entitled because he gets whatever he wants, even if it makes no sense for the team, such as the Lakers signing his son Bronny, who is not NBA material. My opinion of LeBron has nothing to do with his abilities as a player. Obviously, he's been a great one for many years, but his arrogance is hard to take. I prefer players like Michael Jordan, Bill Bradley, Steph Curry, Jerry Lucas, Larry Bird, David Thompson and Magic Johnson, among others, who were great in both college and the NBA, and did not behave like arrogant jerks like LeBron

I'm on board with self-entitled. The thing with his kid playing this year in league games made them an exhibition rather than a competition. Everyone knew Bronny was not qualified to be on an NBA roster, certainly not at the start of the season. The premise of legitimate professional sports is that everyone is actually trying their best to win - as opposed to what was in this case, the desire of the star to have a personal athletic experience of playing with his kid. If that is not self-entitlement, maybe all of the players, or the coaches too, should get to put their kid on the court in a league game just to say they did it.

I love Michael but if you don’t think he was/is arrogant, you must not have followed his career closely.

Other than the Bronny thing, which really is kind of meaningless (he played in a few games this year), what other things has he done to the detriment of the team?

The Lakers didn't have to sign Bronny if they didn't want to. They made the calculation that the signing improved their chances overall (and that's not limited to just how the last man off the bench might help the squad on the court.)

Almost all professional athletes are arrogant as all get out and try to use leverage to get what they want. Magic Johnson got his first NBA coach fired after all. Some people just don't like athletes having leverage over the franchises they work for.

And Bill Russell was thought to be very arrogant but that may have just been a racial thing. I am not a Lebron fan. I have always rooted against him except in the Olympics. I am just trying to understand the hate. He doesn’t seem like that bad a person to me but maybe I don’t have enough info.

I have met Bill Russell and he is an arrogant jerk, but at least he played in college and led his team to a national championship. LeBron is an uneducated arrogant jerks, and I don't like him. Others might have different opinions, to which they are certainly entitled. However, Lebron has manipulated teams wherever he has played because he is such a great player. Thus I'm delighted that the Lakers and LeBron are out, and I hope Lebron never plays on an NBA champion again.

The Bucks signed Giannis’ brother for four years even though he’s not NBA material. Nobody cared. Why? Because the last guy on the bench is a practice body. But when it’s for LeBron people freak out.

As for “uneducated”… wow. That’s, just… I’m not even gonna touch that one. But I’m not surprised it came up on a Northwestern board. We also used to have people complaining about football players with “tattoos” and long hair/dreadlocks. And those great players who represented those universities… did so because the NBA made them.

And don’t get me started on hating LBJ’s “arrogance” while then listing some of the most arrogant players in NBA history. (Ya’ll remember when Michael Jordan punched Steve Kerr in practice because Kerr had the gall to call Jordan out in public? Or what about all the trash Bird would talk — like the time we walked through the jump ball circle at Tom Chambers and said “there’s only one man who can guard me and that’s God” all because Chambers was getting good press?)

The amount of hate LeBron gets just goes to show… stick around long enough and you become the villain.

LeBron has been a villain from day one as far as I'm concerned, despite the fact that he's one of the greatest players of all time. Anyway, he's gone from the playoffs and that makes me happy because he's an arrogant self-entitled jerk in my humble opinion.

I don't care about LeBron AT ALL. I have no use for him. And he's been a jerk about some things. But the man has leveraged his unique talent brilliantly to build his power in the NBA, get championships and prepare his life for when his career is finished. If that's not some level of smart, I don't know what is.

If we're going to talk Jordan vs LeBron in the context of building power, I think we have to call it Jordan/Falk vs LeBron/Carter. Falk was the pioneer, but I think Jordan was less involved in the business end of things than LeBron is with Carter.

Jordan sure didn't handle the business side of things as well as LeBron. His attempt to lift the Wizards was a mess. He sure didn't do much with the Hornets, and, in the end, he didn't have the power with the Bulls that LeBron chose to have with a couple franchises.

And if you don't think Michael is arrogant, forget his playing career for a moment. His actions since he retired have been petty and pitiful on multiple levels.

I’ve got no problem with that, good sir. We all have someone we irrationally dislike.

I'm not a fan of Lebron, but his accomplishments speak for themselves. And the irrational hatred the guy provokes is awe-inspiring.

Yeah, that was lame. A supposed social warrior until it affected his business interests.
Business is business and LeBron has always been a company man. Morey was also forced to apologize (not saying it was right).

The fact that he was the most hyped young basketball player of all time and then went on to exceed even that hype to be the face of the league for 20+ years without incident is mind boggling.

If “Powerful father gets dubiously qualified son job” is the worst someone can say, then I think that’s ok.

You like the nice, sweet, humble guys like Michael Jordan and Larry Bird.

Maybe I should amend my list to include only Steph Curry, Bill Bradley, Michael Thompson and Jerry Lucas. Were any of them self-entitled jerks like Lebron?

There are other things, but I prefer the college guys who were also NBA All Stars. Feel free, though, to continue to worship LeBron as you see fit. He's a great player.

Steph’s an all-time great. The other guys were very good players but not in the pantheon of all-time greats like Michael, Larry, LeBron, Kareem and Russell. Very few of the greats didn’t/don’t have enormous egos. Not too different than the best coaches, most of whom are huge assholes. And Russell had good reason for not being warm and fuzzy. Boston was one of the most racist cities in America when he played there. He just had to lead them to 10 plus titles to get accepted.

Jordan is like Exhibit A for self-entitled, arrogant jerks, no doubt about it. He’s the greatest player of all time and worked his tail off, but that doesn’t mean he wasn’t full of himself. Look, sports are entertainment anyone is free to like or dislike whoever they want. But if you're going to call LeBron a self-entitled, arrogant jerk, then Jordan definitely fits that bill too.

LeBron has been under the national spotlight since before he was 18, and he’s never had a major scandal. That’s incredibly rare for someone who’s grown up under such intense scrutiny. He came into a ton of money at a young age and has stayed mostly grounded.

Now, defending him aside I’m not actually a fan. I hate the flopping; he's way too good to rely on that nonsense. And the fake book reading thing? Just weird. I liked Jordan as a player, but as a person there’s some crazy stories and he leaves a lot to be desired from that aspect. Jordan is way more of a self entitled, arrogant jerk than LeBron. I’m not saying they both aren’t one but Jordan wins that race.

I met Russell at a golf outing in the Dominican Republic at Casa de Campo where I had a villa for many years. Miller Brewing sponsored the trip for many high level NBA players. All of them were very gracious, offering autographs and chatting, and all of them were black. All except Russell, who was openly hostile and nasty, and refused to sign authographs. I'm a life-long Celtics fan, but that soured me on Russell, as opposed to some of the other great black players on the Celtics. He was a great player but was also a nasty jerk, even when he was a long way from Boston.

Oops, I meant to say Michael Robinson, who was great at Navy and in the NBA. He was also a great guy, and not an arrogant jerk like Lebron. Also, Michael Jordan had his second marriage at Casa de Campo, where everybody at the resort, including employees came out to watch him play golf with his pals. Michael was smiling, pleasant and signed autographs, unlike Bill Russell.

" I have a higher calling than just basketball." LeBron James.

Memo to LeBron. Money and notoriety don't make you wise in matters outside the lines. Maybe you should focus more on breathing life (outside of China) into your dying game.
