Mississippi State secures commitment from Jordan Mosley, transfer receiver from Northwestern

STARKVILLE — For the second time Tuesday, Mississippi State football picked up a transfer commitment at a position of need.
First, West Virginia cornerback Jackie Matthews announced his commitment to the Bulldogs. Now, coach Mike Leach secured the commitment of wide receiver Jordan Mosley, who joins from Northwestern.
Mosley has four seasons of eligibility remaining. He only played in three games for the Wildcats, primarily featuring as an outside receiver. That is a position of need for Mississippi State, a team that lost record-breaking receiver Makai Polk to the NFL Draft.
In those three games, Mosley caught one pass for seven yards.

INCOMING: Mississippi State football adds Jackie Matthews, a West Virginia transfer cornerback
The Mobile, Alabama, native had interest from Mississippi State out of high school, when he was a four-star recruit. He was ranked as the 50th-best wide receiver product in his class, according to the 247Sports Composite.
The 6-foot, 190-pound pass catcher can compete for a role on the outside, joining a receiving corps that has plenty of slot options — such as Jaden Walley and Austin Williams — but fewer outside targets.
