Sullivan officially the starter.

I can’t wait to see him suck. He’s not good.
Sullivan would have been NU’s best QB this season. Lujan should have tried to keep him

It will be hard for NU to win another game without him.

Ergo, once again NU’s fans are an embarrassment. Much like Schill, Gragg, and the entire goofy BoT. Fire them all

I believe Braun made the correct decision to let Sullivan get away--he didn't have to, you know. Perhaps Braun saw Lausch as the future and brought in Wright as a foil? It really did make sense to bring in a good QB through the portal at that time, since Sullivan didn't seem the answer. If Wright was all he was made out to be, fine, but Sullivan would have been an impediment to the development of Lausch, if Wright didn't pan out, which he didn't. Good call in a sticky situation. Sullivan is surrounded by a very good Iowa team, whereas Lausch is not, nor would Sullivan have been. This is a program in development (once again).

1. I still don't see any evidence that Lausch is better than Sullivan. 2. Anybody that thought Wright was "made out to be" anything special did not look at his record.
3. I'm disappointed that the staff has decided to sacrifice this season, and perhaps next season, at the altar of "development ". Eff their development. Duke and Vandy got legit transfer QBs.

I'm not asking for an IU type overhaul with 20 transfers, but can we at least prioritze a QB?

181 QB rating? 42 points? I’d say that’s a solid performance. Unless you’re a bitter old man holding a pointless grudge…
Iowa ran the ball 54 times and threw 10. I think it is very clear where the game was won. Completing 7 of 10 helps his QBR, but 73 yards passing would have NU fans sending a lynch mob to Lausch apartment.

I don’t care about Sully, but we have people acting like we somehow magically win a bunch of more games with him is comical at best. The best player every weekend is either our back up QB or some transfer that we should have found a way to keep.

93 years (in only 10 passes) and a TD. Also 58 yards rushing and a TD. He played a very solid game. The people trying to shit on him in this forum makes Wildcat fans look like Buckeye fans.

Stop! Is it not ok to think he isn’t good? What you call “shit on” is some people’s evaluation. I guess if it doesn’t align with yours it’s “shit on”. Tired of this narrative.

Exactly. What most people are reacting to is the “Braun/Lujan ran off Sully” and now we’d have multiple more wins. A QB who throws < 100 yards a game wouldn’t have materially changed anything this season. Sully should have a slight advantage having played more QB in HS and having another year of college experience.

However, I propose that if Sully and Lausch traded uniforms, neither team would notice much of a difference.

There have been posters going out of there way to most definitely shit on him.

Like I said, he did a perfectly great job handing the ball to Kaleb Johnson for ten yard carries after the defense picked off Wisconsin.

He played perfectly fine for a backup qb and I wish him just fine. He didn’t play like a guy who deserved last offseason to have a starting job guaranteed to him. That’s what he left in a huff for. An unimpressive decision, but one I’m happy he has the right to make and hope he feels works out in the end. I certainly don’t think he’d be a needle mover if we still had him.

He left for somewhere he felt he had a better chance to play. Isn’t that what everyone here has been pushing for? Good for him. I think he made the right choice and the last couple weeks been extremely memorable for him.

Not sure that’s explicitly true. He left because he was offended he wasn’t getting guaranteed to play at NU and his ego was wounded. As it’s turned out, he almost certainly waited longer to play at Iowa than he would have at NU. He did manage to transfer to a team with drastically better players around him,

Watched a bunch of that game, he really did do a tremendous job of handing the ball to Kaleb Johnson and Iowa’s several other seriously good backs.
It’s too bad they loss. A real QB would have led them to victory. Oh well, guess Iowa won’t be bowling either…

Is Iowa one of the forty team going to the CFP playoffs with that great supporting cast?

Except McNamara would still be QB at Iowa.

Wish Lausch did as good handing off to Porter v Wisconsin. A common foe but with much different results. Launch through for 82 yards and a 23 QBR. Kinda seems like an apples to apples comparison as you could get. Launch also fumbled in that game.

And a chance to go bowling

It's about improvement. And Lausch has shown significant improvement. You must have gotten on your bicycle at 3 years old and ridden all the way around your block, or in your case, the cul-de-sac.

Has he? I'm not sure I see that trend. Don't get me wrong, I'm not out on Lausch or pessimistic on him, but we've seen a pretty clear trend of pretty bad play vs good teams and strong play vs bad teams, so I'm not sure I see any kind of overall trend line within that, or any trend that correlates with time independent of the quality of opponent. I am hopeful we'll see some things in the remaining games to demonstrate that more tangibly.
