Get an offensive rebound? There are almost 45 offensive rebounds between the 2 games tonight. The only reason FAU lost was because of the offensive rebounds they gave up in the 2nd half on free throws.Sheesh.
Maybe the game has changed but this was drilled into me in High School basketball.
So…you’re just ignoring the 40+ offensive rebounds that happened?Sorry, wrong, I saw time and time and time and time and time and time again no offensive rebounds.
I think this goes back to the offensive style now popular in basketball - stop - pop - drop.
This is not a knock on Northwestern or FAU or anyone, but from me, a guy who has watched basketball since the 1970s (true) but GET THE OFFENSIVE REBOUNT GUYS!
And - HOLY MOLY current players (not all, most) are crap playing with their backs to the basket!
??? FAU got offensive rebounds on 26% of their missed shots, SDSU got 32% of theirs, Miami got 33% of theirs and UConn got 42% of their misses. The average across D1 this season was 29% and each team other than FAU met or exceeded their season average. These are facts, regardless of what you thought you saw.Sorry, wrong, I saw time and time and time and time and time and time again no offensive rebounds.

The end of that game was exciting but butt ugly. Nobody could make a shot, even open layups, and FAU couldn’t rebound even a missed free throw for their lives. Of course, a final four buzzer beater jumper will wash away many of the sins of that.Sheesh.

Because SDSU were crashing the offensive boards so hard. So it’s actually the opposite of your point.Nobody could make a shot, even open layups, and FAU couldn’t rebound even a missed free throw for their lives.
My point exactly (stated far better by you).
Not harder than any standard game where you are expected to make a layup.Because SDSU were crashing the offensive boards so hard. So it’s actually the opposite of your point.
Rebounding a missed defensive free throw is… not hard.Because SDSU were crashing the offensive boards so hard. So it’s actually the opposite of your point.
It was pretty hard for FAU the other night the way SDSU crashed the offensive boards.Rebounding a missed defensive free throw is… not hard.
