Although I did blindly predict it in this week's haiku. Some will say Maryland is not that good, but was NU much better? I mean this was basically a blow out--on their home field. Predicated on this, the Cats could go bowling. Wisconsin, Purdue and one other--Iowa, Illinois or Michigan? I believe Michigan is beatable this year.

A week of surprises - an unexpected blowout victory on the road in the Big Ten Football after getting a commit from a 4-star basketball recruit at the beginning of the week!

Cats looked real good tonight. MD not so much. Hopefully NU can get to 6 wins. Enjoy the game today while relaxing.

I feel like we saw a lot of improvement on the offensive side of the ball during the Indiana game and that played forward to this week with Lausch confidently connecting on some long passes to Kirtz/Henning.

I feel the same way I felt last weekend; there's improvement that we can see from week to week, and that's the most important thing. Lausch looks like he's had a year's worth of seasoning compared to his first game...; he's improving so rapidly that it's impressive. Of course he likely can't keep improving quite at this pace the entire season or he'd be a Heisman candidate by the end, but I don't think we've seen a plateau yet.

There's plenty of reasons to be optimistic about the season but a lot of it comes down to the next couple of weeks where we face beatable opponents if we play well.
