I'm just curious how others see things unfolding.
From what I understand...
There will be fixed roster limits. Lets say 15 for basketball. The # of scholarships will equal the roster limit.
Players will be payable thru NIL collectives, operated by groups associated with the university, but not run by the university.
Players may be paid directly by the university for their time (above and beyond tuition, living expenses, meals, lodging, etc)
Is this finalized? I saw a $20.5 million annual limit for revenue-sharing with all of the athletes.
How much revenue do mid-majors take in through their athletic programs?
Does the athletic department at each school decide how to allocate the revenue?
Academics... Do athletes have to actually attend classes and maintain a GPA? Or is this purely up to the discretion of each university - in other words "No."
The transfer portal will continue to operate as it is now (essentially).
I'm not really up to speed on this - perhaps others know whats coming...
