Looks like Tim is coming back to NU to join Fitz's staff according to Green Bay Packers beat reporter.
"McCarthy was interested in #Packers defensive quality control assistant Tim McGarigle returning, but McGarigle has accepted a job with Pat Fitzgerald at #Northwestern."

I'd personally prefer that Randy Bates take over for Hank (Bates has been a DC) and then Tim after Bates retires.

Seeing that Hankwitz is about 70, I would venture to guess he may be here another 3-5 years. But I hope we are starting to groom a successor already.

Sounds like McGarigle would have survived the Packer's recent purge, which shed Dom Capers and demoted Ted Thompson to the dreaded "adviser" role. Kudos to him. Great to see him returning to Evanston.

Yes, it was McGarigle. But come on, that was at least a dozen years ago and he was, what, in his early 20s? Give the guy a break. I did plenty of stupid things in college that I’m sure glad didn’t make it into the media.

That was Brett Walsh.

Walsh got arrested just a few years ago for a somewhat similar incident in Ohio. McGarigle had his scrape with the law in Evanston.
