#18 Arkansas just lost to Toledo, #21 Mizzou has a game on their hands with Arky St., and at least on of Oklahoma / Tennessee will lose. We may be ranked soon.

On top of that, one of Boise State/BYU will lose, and Mississippi State will also likely lose. All in all, seems probable we'll have a number in front of our name for the Duke game.

I don't want a ranking going into next week. Historically, a ranking does us no favors going into a toss up game. On the contrary, I would LOVE for us to be a few points out of the Top 25 en route to Durham.

Due to the nature of their losses, both Tennessee and Mississippi State could still be ahead of us which would keep us out of the top 25.

I dislike this meme that being ranked should be avoided because it affects the outcomes of our games, and I would doubt there's evidence that this is the case. Personally, I think being ranked is fun, and definitely helps us get more exposure as a program.
