There’s an interesting thread about in state recruiting and it sparked a thought
I think we can confidently say the slow start in HS recruiting is solely NIL
A lot of the rationale for the poor recruiting of high schoolers has been:
I think it’s really safe to say it was a good portal season for NU. New QB, linemen, defensive depth, WR speed, etc.
Those transfer players theoretically should care even more about terrible on field performance lately too. Transfer players have less years of eligibility and need to win now
So, why did the transfer portal season go well and high school recruiting looking like its off to a very rocky start?
I think the only clear difference is NIL and NU’s stance on who gets it

A lot of the rationale for the poor recruiting of high schoolers has been:
- The production on the field is terrible recently
- No stadium this year
- Braun is an unproven recruiter
- Fitz is no longer recruiting
