The Bears have released Trevor Siemian. Wonder if h will try to extend his NFL career by signing with another team ?

The Bengals are taking a look at a backup quarterback.
Trevor Siemian is visiting the Bengals tomorrow, according to James Palmer of NFL Network.
Siemian spent last season with the Bears. He has previously spent time with the Saints, Titans, Jets, Vikings and Broncos. He has started 30 games in his NFL career, including one for the Bears last year.
The Bengals currently have only one backup quarterback, Jake Browning, behind Joe Burrow on the depth chart. Browning has never taken a single regular-season snap in his NFL career, so the Bengals would surely like to get some more experience in their quarterback room.

This would be great! The Bengals badly need a competent back-up QB. You hope he never plays, but if Burrow ever misses a snap, the Bengals are in trouble.

I had the DirecTV NFL package during TS' Denver years. He started 2 seasons behind a horrendous OL but even more importantly were the number of drops that the WRs suffered. Emmanuel Sanders, later with Buffalo, when asked which QB he had played with ,threw the best ball and he immediately said Trevor Siemian. Trevor has been with the Vikings(backup to Cousins), Jets(cheap shotted by Myles Garrett), Saint and Bears. The only year, he actually started under Kubiak, he earned a ProBowl invite. I believe his career would have been much different had he played behind a decent OL .

Completely agree. I probably watched 75% of Trevor's games at QB for Denver. He got zero support from the OL and WR groups. Despite those obstacles, he played pretty darned well at times.

That Week 2 game against Dallas will be forever etched in my memory as Touchdown Trevor’s finest performance.

Not just the O-line, but the complete lack of a run game once CJ Anderson (who was serviceable) got hurt.

The Broncos then had to turn to rookie Devonte Booker (who had the tendency to run into the behind of one of his blockers) and bringing journeyman RB, Justin Forsett, out of retirement - where the 2 repeatedly struggled to convert on 3rd/4th and short.

Also, when a team has a bad O-line and no run game, it's imperative to have weapons for a quick passing game, but the Broncos didn't have a TE or slot receiver either (see Brady this past season w/ the Bucs).

Eventually, after Siemian repeatedly burned the Bengals secondary on blitzes, opponents learned that they could get pressure on the QB w/o having to send an extra rusher and bracketed the only 2 weapons the Broncos had (DT and Sanders).

There were a lot of dumb arse Broncos fans saying that opposing DCs had "figured out" Siemian, but what they had figured out was the Broncos O which was filled with holes.

But even the D (which was responsible for the SB winning season) was a shell of itself with the interior line having been gutted due to FA.

A team which can't run the ball or stop the run is going to have a heck of a time winning games.

Even with all that and Trevor's injury (which not only hampered his throwing, but his mobility) , the Broncos came within a play (in several games) of making the playoffs.

They should have beaten the Chiefs at MH, but the Denver D couldn't stop a long 2 minute drill drive which sent the game into OT (where TS hurt his foot, after getting stepped on by his LT).

But the game should have ended w/o the KC ever getting the ball back if the Broncos receiver had gone down at the 1 yd line instead of running it in for the TD after a long pass play.

The Bears did TS no favors when they waited to release him until after they signed that other QB.

By that time, SF (Siemian is basically an older, more experienced version of Purdy) and Denver had already signed QBs.

Siemian's career would had taken a different trajectory if Elway had hired Shanahan instead of Vance Joseph, but Shanny basically had no shot at the job when he indicated that he liked Trevor over Elway's prized 1st round QB.

Cincy would be a pretty good spot for TS; so would KC (wouldn't it be karma if Siemian led the Chiefs to victory over the Broncos?).

His agent better find him a spot where Trevor has a chance to succeed (if ever called upon), instead of repeatedly ended up on O's which are lacking in talent.

Even during his time in NO, the bulk of the Saints payroll was on the defensive side, with a big chunk of the $$ spent on O being dead $$ on retired players like Brees or players who had moved on to other teams (like Sanders to the Bills).

The bulk of the rest of the $$ on O was spent on the 2 tackles, the LG, WR THomas, RB Kamara and "Swiss army knife" Hill.

But right when Siemian had the chance to start, those guys ended up missing all or most of his starts - so again, Trevor was playing behind a bad O-line, no run game and this time, really no one to throw it to.

Interesting factoid - Siemian is the only QB to lead his team to victory over Brees and Brady in the Super Dome.
