By playing superback, he at least will get the ball in his hands and score TDs if he’s open. Jake could even draw a nice trick play or two in the dirt.
1) Yes. Vitale was 6007 with 31 3-4” arms. That’s way too small to play TE.
2) …which is why you seldom saw him deployed as a traditional TE. He was almost always in a wing, the backfield, or split wide.
3) If he transfers… ok? Use the scholarship on another player.
How will you choose amongst the Johnny no-stars recruits to replace him?
Also 50/50 chance we lose the Howard game without him.
Finally, why throw away a guy that has been loyal to the program for 3 years? Cripes we need talent badly.
1) He already isn’t playing behind Porter and Himon. I’ve also heard good things about Komolafe.
2) Reeder (if he sticks) at least has a lot more typical running back “tools” — build, speed, etc.
3) You think Tyus is a material reason we beat Howard? Ok.
4) Why is asking a guy to change positions in any way “throwing a guy away?”
Why change positions? He seems to be taking a role on the team in his current position. We have highly rated recruits that can’t even see the rotation. Select someone else to pick on. Covey?
Because I think he would be a better linebacker than running back?
And nobody’s picking on anyone.
