I talked to 6-foot-8 Minn. tackle Riley Mahlman last night. He got an offer from NU way back in December and visited for a spring practice.
He says that Northwestern is “high on his list,” and it’s a pretty good list: he has offers from Ohio State, Wisconsin, Nebraska and Michigan State, among others, along with interest from Notre Dame. He’s going to come back to NU for a camp on June 20 and wants to get a better look at the campus. He’s got a 3.91 GPA.
It will be a battle for Mahlman, but NU will be in the fight. Plus, NU has Minn. native Lou Ayeni recruiting him. We’ll see if Coach Lou can work his magic.
