Well you covered nearly every disparaged group in the country except the obese.

Buy JFBR or a big fan load of STFU
Nice of you to call out teammates with borderline racist comments.

Seriously, I am sorry you went through that and are still suffering, but posting that on LI or any social media will not help address the issue. You are just trying get to revenge for your hurt. I understand why, but it won't get you better. You are just making enemies. Please see a therapist.

Since I have lived in the Stevenson school district since 2001 and my kids both attended that highly-rated school, I thought I'd look up some of your claims...

The hazing you allude to seems to have been happening...

from the Chicago Tribune of 9/4/1999 includes an article that says the following...

"Following a weeklong investigation, four Stevenson High School football players were charged Friday with misdemeanors in connection with the hazing of junior varsity players.
The four, all upperclassmen at the Lincolnshire school, face $100 to $1,000 fines and up to 6 months in jail if convicted, officials said.
They face a Sept. 27 court date in Waukegan. School officials could not be reached for comment late Friday....
Officials said that in one incident, five underclassmen were blindfolded and held down. They were then released, and when they sat up their faces struck the bare buttocks of the older students, who had straddled the victims, police said.
In the other instance, the roles were reversed, and two members of the junior varsity squad were tricked into lowering their pants before the varsity players allegedly placed a banana against their buttocks, police said."

Beyond that, I have never heard of Latino Kings or any other gang at Stevenson. There's nothing like that on the internet.

I am sure this is exactly what the players, coaches and fanbase needs to unite behind our purple players just a few days before we play the University of Washington, which, as all of you must remember, played in the College National Championship game last year. (sarcasm).

The ole Atomic Sit up where you face smashes into a guys ass. This was going on 20 years earlier. Just wasn’t called hazing in the 70’s.

The “Latin Kings” have been around almost 70 years. Pretty sure there is no such thing as the “Latino Kings”. His other junior mafia gang sounds like some greasers in leather jackets that hang out in the body shop. Also, have a hard time reconciling rough and tumble gang activity in the affluent Stevenson school district.

I used to believe that this man was just a pain in the ass, but now I have a better understanding of the serious emotional problems that he faces. Get some help my man.

I stopped reading after I saw reference to the 2000 Rose Bowl Season.

Should have known better than to even consider giving it a serious read when the title attempts to link Rashidi’s tragic death with the hazing.

Thanks for the Truth, CMT.

I am especially sorry for your brother and also for your bad experiences with NUFB and for whatever other unspoken challenges you’ve overcome.

I think kids are being raised with much more care and concern for others than even a generation ago, with the word ‘bully’ serving as a powerful putdown. Not everyone can receive that message, but I think we’re mostly a nicer place.

Rashidi simply died because he had asthma and they took advantage of athletes to save their jobs.

The only thing the medical staff did differently? They gave me Advair in case I had an asthma attack during practice.

His mother never got to hug him goodbye. My mom and I never to to hug my brother goodbye.

It’s football. Dumb things happen in the locker room when you’re on a team. It’s part of growing up. Bullying is mean but it’s part of life. This is a massive overreaction for attention.
Athletes have always "tested" their teammates. This has been going on forever. I think humans in tight groups will always "sort."

I certainly don't condone sexualized hazing. I went through it in high school hockey. In retrospect, I should have clocked the guy who tried to put Icy Hot on my balls, but whatever. I was not traumatized, and my gf took care of my balls.

I just don't see how a very public airing of very old grievances moves the chains.

The post is tough to read. I'm not sure if it is the appropriate medium to have the sort of impact that you are looking for.

I was at school at the same time as you, and friends with a lot of the same people (including some you mentioned in your post). If you genuinely are trying to facilitate a proactive discussion, as a white person originally from a disadvantaged community - and one that had a tough time adjusting to the very different socioeconomic environment at NU - then I will express my earnest desire to make sure that I do not intentionally or unintentionally cause any black person or person of any race to feel as though they are disadvantaged or judged solely because of their background.

They are all angry bro. Most are over it.

I tagged Loretta Lynch on there too with the Nu predators Twitter thread.

In that thread, a star NFL LB who played for Fitz is accused of rape a couple of times.

Northwestern is an embarrassment. I am a McCormick alum.

Read through that.

Sexual predation is prevalent in Evanston.

A lot of people are reaching out to me and thanking me.

We are both fathers and people expect all victims to stay silent.

I am tired of waiting for people to wake up.

This post should be taken down. That is a completely wild accusation that has never even been mentioned before you did (and I’m quite plugged in through boosters). It would have leaked out if that was even remotely true. You should be held libel for that. This is similar to the BS Polisky went through which destroyed his career unjustly. Go away, dude, and get some professional help. You need it. I’ll even help pay for it if you can’t afford it.

I believe that the hazing occurred. That said, @CatManTrue, how could you possibly still be an NU Fan ? (you say Go Cats in your post).
The answer is not that complicated. CMT is a huge man who played one year as a walk-on offensive lineman at NU. Often he says whatever pops into his mind on a variety of topics. Often they have nothing to do with NU football. An example would be his support for transgender men participating in women's sports. At one time he was very supportive of NU sports, most notably football and basketball. That was true until Fitz was fired and he tried to make a legal claim against Fitz and the University, which he has since dropped. As many have said before, he needs professional help and I truly hope he gets it.

What are you talking about? Rashidi tragically died because he took banned substances, on his own recognizance, an hour before he did the conditioning test (that a ton of teams still do! Nebraska had OL throwing up a few years ago). Like do you think we’re dumb and won’t fact check this?

Clearly it had so much substance… that he dropped it…

most of the students and student athletes at Northwestern are incredible human beings.

Schill & Gragg are jokes and not reflective of a Top 10 School. They should have been fired too along with most of the BoT. They are followers & sycophants.

NU does not develop true leaders and fosters a culture like what you see in that nupredators thread. I was powerless when I was there.

Now, I have an army of lawyers, my own companies & a profit, and I want parents to make sure their kids are OK in Evanston

there is a major bubble in college tuition. Kids should not have to pay a mortgage for a degree that may not help them

It is hard not to root for these kids. They have their own voices. I’m worried about the kids on campus who don’t play football.

Braun and the team have done nothing wrong.

NU has a losing culture. I don’t want their money. I want them to become a leader or stop pretending that they care about all people.

Like most private universities they only care about money

Using a random, blind Twitter account last updated in June 2021 to support your theory is a very weird stance to take.

I don't have a Twitter account so I cannot read the post.

There are a LOT of people who were student athletes at NU and have nothing but positive things to say about their time at NU. I have a hard time believing the football culture is broken.

He’s making things up for attention. Pretty obvious by his follow up comments in this thread.
There are so many things that are unsubstantiated or blatantly embellished that he really does a dis-service to the cause he rails against. There have been a lot of people that have come out with stories that have credibility concerns. A bunch!

Like any private university, Northwestern has its weak spots but its pretty obvious the pluses trounce the minuses.
My daughter just graduated in June. She loved her life at NU, enjoyed her classes and made (hopefully) lifelong friends.
Now pursuing her career, she admits to missing Northwestern.

Embellished is a nice way of saying this dude is writing fiction.
