While it wasn't this board, I do vividly recall posting on an NU message board in 1996 and being amazed by the classlessness of Tennessee posters. There weren't as many at the time, as the Interwebs were in their relative infancy, but the same attitudes and aggressive stances were apparent. It was as if they thought they were the ones taking the field. The Tennessee fans are right up there IMO with the worst the BT has to offer, which are far and away, Iowa and Illinois fans. Is it the rural setting? No idea. My point was going to be that after enduring years of visiting fans trolling and making themselves at home on our site, I am done with the free board. There aren't enough NU fans in the world to have enough meaningful NU conversations anyway. Having to navigate a minefield of crap each week, and place 'ignore' on a growing number of posters who believe they are the most underutilized OC and QB coaches and talent evaluators in the country, I think the 9.95 a month is more than worth it.
