This guy ain't cutting it. He can't get the ball to the end zone even with a decent wind at his back. It cost us a return to the 40. There should never even BE a return with a wind like this at his back.

We also need better kick coverage

Wind seems to be a factor...seemed fine when kicking with the wind vs against it.

No, still struggling to get it into the end zone even with 10-15 mph tailwind. Not good.

Completely agree! Wasn't Mitchell doing it last week? Why the change?
No. Supposedly he is not completely healthy with an upper body/lower body injury. If NU sticks with the current kicker it's going to cost them a ball game and maybe as soon as next week. His short kicks, even with a strong wind at his back, combined with terrible kickoff coverage is a disaster waiting to happen

I thought this was an intentional move by Fitz to have the kicker try to get it higher and to the 3 yard line. Then we can tackle the guy around the 20, instead of giving them the ball at the 25. It seems like we've had shorter kicks since the touch back got moved up.

I disagree with this philosophy 100% I also don't know if it is truly Fitz's philosophy or I'm making it up based on what i've seen.

That would be a good plan if your team has really good kick coverage. We don't. :(

You might disagree with it, but a lot of teams are doing it. I started noticing it last year. Watch for it, you'll see it a lot.

Thought our KO's looked pretty strong tonight....can we cross them off the list of things to bitch about moving forward?

Yes. He had a good game. Wind was blowing pretty strong from the east so it wasn't a factor for distance on kick-offs.
