What does the BTN think of our schedule?

Don't disagree with too much there, but it's hard to see anything but Bowling Green as the easiest game on the slate as we sit here today.

Bowling Green, Nevada, Purdue all look pretty weak, toss a coin.

Unfortunately, we start the Big Ten season with arguably our two most difficult games of the year. Maybe it is a good thing that we have a bye week before those two games.

While Wisconsin will always be tough, at least they have turnover at some key positions that might impact their early season performance. Penn State will be a bear, but hopefully our experience on the defensive backfield will allow the front seven to focus on Barkley (who is incredible).

Beating Nebraska won't be an upset.
Could be a pick-um game but on the road in Lincoln is usually tough. Thinking that Bowling Green might be the easiest game on the schedule but Nevada, Illinois and Purdue should also be W's. Other potential wins should come from Io-a, UNL, Maryland and Minny. Eight wins minimum or season disappoints.

While true, Nebraska is losing 13 starters (including key guys like Armstrong, Westerkamp, Cethan Carter, Nate Gerry, etc.).

Like last year, I don't think anyone on the schedule is truly "scary." Penn State is obviously a strong team, but it's a break getting them in Evanston rather than Happy Valley. Similar to Nebraska, Wisconsin is always tough but also has plenty of personnel losses to cover.

Eh. Armstrong wasn't exactly Peyton Manning, but they'll be much worse off without him.

They also lost a lot more than just Armstrong - huge senior class gone, including 2 of their top WR's, best safety, best 2 linebackers, top rusher, plus Armstrong did a lot of work on the ground for them on offense as well . . . and all of those guys graduating weren't Riley's guys. Now we will have to see what the younger guys will do, including Riley's guys, and in what will now be somewhat of a new offense for them in year 3 with pro-style QB. I do not think they will have as much success this season, as they did last season, and they did not finish last season on high notes either.

NU will be pretty strong, so not worried about how weak other teams are. Just win, baby!
