Who wouldn't be satisfied with setting the all time record for victories in a season?

Do you mean the 2012-13 season. UIC was not a worse loss? Can't imagine that they were better or ended up better than Illinois. Ditto last year with Central Michigan.

UIC was a much worse loss (250ish) than any loss this year, but as stated above that wasn't the same season I was talking about. CMU last year actually finished at 93.

Thanks, should have looked it up before posting. Sorry.

Hey CC should schedule even easier non-conference teams. Then the team can win even more games. That is a Joke! This program must focus on Big Ten victories if it wants to get to the Big Dance. Playing a tougher schedule will help them recruit better kids. It will also preparing them to play thru the tough schedule of the Big Ten conference. There is no reason NU can't be a solid every year basketball team.

In 2011-12 many talking heads said that a win against a bad Minnesota team would get us in the Big Dance. I still believe that the loss to Minnesota in the BTT cost BC his job, not the 2012-13 season.

I'm not saying this isn't true, but can you site an example of a year where playing a tougher non-conference schedule helped NU recruit better kids or helped them play better throughout the B1G season?

More than anything it has been injuries and lack of depth that has done in the Cats. This year we lost Law for the season, and our 2 senior big men for chunks of Big Ten play. Yet after beating Illinois we still have a shot at 20 wins with 3 more victories. Not going to be easy but still within reach.
