Here is the quote from HailtoPurple.com:

"Of course, should NU beat Illinois, the 'Cats will certainly bowl: there will likely be ten B1G spots to fill, and there will likely be ten B1G teams to fill them. NU should get the Foster Farms Bowl if that happens.

From the Foster Farms Bowl official website:

"The Foster Farms Bowl is an NCAA-licensed, Post-Season College Football Bowl game playing its third game at Levi’s Stadium, featuring the 3rd selection from the Pac-12 conference (outside of the college football playoff group) versus a top team from the Big Ten conference. It will be the only post season Bowl game televised by FOX Sports in 2016. The Bowl originated in 2002 and played the first 12 games at AT&T Park. The game was previously known as the Diamond Walnut San Francisco Bowl (2002-2003), Emerald Bowl (2004-2009), Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl (2010-2012) and the Fight Hunger Bowl (2013). The game is entering its 15th year and is now owned and operated by the San Francisco 49ers.

DATE: Wednesday, December 28
TIME: 5:30pm"

Apparently some have already started booking refundable hotel rooms. Anyone have an idea which hotel will most likely be the Northwestern Team Hotel based on where visiting B1G teams have stayed in the past?

Assuming Northwestern is selected from the B1G, any thoughts on which team we would most likely be paired up against from the Pac`12 based on current standings? A rematch with Stanford likely?

OK, I found this with regard to the Official Team Hotel for last year's Huskers:

Book your room at the Hyatt Regency Embarcadero, the official Husker team hotel,

Contact information:

Steps from the California Street cable car, this downtown hotel with a soaring 17-story atrium is a 4-minute walk from the Ferry Plaza Building and its famous farmers market. … More
Address: 5 Embarcadero Center, San Francisco, CA 94111
Phone (415) 788-1234

Surprised the Nebraska Team stayed in downtown San Francisco rather than closer to Levi Stadium. Curious if the B1G has a tie-in with this hotel that would allow knowing now whether it will be the B1G's Team Hotel again this year? I suppose one could call the hotel to see if they know if rooms have already been reserved.

There is another Hyatt Regency .45 miles from Levi Stadium. $156. pn two queen size. Refundable up to 12/25

Can I assume that from the East Coast one would have to fly to San Francisco even though it is about 50 miles from there to the stadium?

I am guessing that this game might be just too far away and too expensive for me. I wonder if the location would keep a lot of other Northwestern fans from attending.

San Jose is an option, though it probably means a connection from the East Coast.

I glanced at airfares, didn't look too closely, but San Jose look a lot more inconvenient and more expensive than flying to San Francisco and figuring out how to get to the stadium.

You can fly southwest into oakland. Nduring the holidays, traffic shouldnt be to crazy getting around the bay area. Bridges across the bay should both be managable

I also glanced at that, and it seems like Oakland would be one to $200 more then to San Francisco
