Group I’m with thought the older (white) ref had it out for us all night. Proved unfortunately true with that crazy non-continuation call. Terrible. Guy should never refer again.

Surprised Collins didn’t say anything.

Again, that's the call that gets made every single time. But yes that ref is not good. No he was not biased against purple

Tell me you don’t know basketball without telling me you don’t know basketball. I’m with 20 people right now who are still talking about how awful that was. Even the other 2 refs were dissenting in the moment.

And it was all night with that guy.

Watching too much pro ball? In the pros it is called every time. In NCAA hardly ever. It looked like he had started into his shooting motion so probably should have been called (even in NCAA) but again in NCAA it hardly ever is

I completely disagree. A shooting foul on this type of play is made almost every time at any level of organized basketball (as it should be). This was not an example of NBA-style continuation but rather a pretty standard shooting foul. If that was any situation other than a halfcourt shot with six seconds left, that ref calls a shooting foul. Instead he anticipated the foul and made a premature call not expecting Brooks’ heady play.

I think we can safely assume Barnhizer was shooting, because the ball went into the basket.
Most of the non-calls are guys pretending to be shooting.

Refs blew it this time.
