Dec, 20 on campus. Game New Years Eve. Tripleheader New Years Day followed by semis and finals.

I guess cats would have likely made it in 1995. Not sure 2000. Maybe in 2018 or 2020?

We'll use the AP poll, then the BCS rankings, then the CFP rankings to see where NU would have ended up in its best seasons, and we'll assume that Ohio State and Purdue would have been considered B1G champions in 1996 and 2000:

1995: #3 seed, first round bye
1996: #11 seed, first round game at Nebraska
2000: DNQ (unranked in BCS, only ranked top 15)
2015: DNQ (finished #13, needed to be #11)
2018: DNQ (finished #22)
2020: DNQ (finished #14, needed to be #11)

So nobody post-1996 would have qualified, and 2015 would have come the closest.

That 2015 team definitely exceeded expectations. The legacy gets a bit faded from the total beatdown by Tennessee in the bowl.
