The Orlando Sentinel always seems to like NU. This year they have the Cats at #19 in their (meaningless) preseason poll.

Outlook: Northwestern is riding the third longest win streak at the FBS level, right behind FAU (10) and UCF (13). A lot of the team’s success could hinge on Thorson’s recovery. If he’s healthy and the offense can identify a suitable replacement for Jackson, Northwestern can contend for the Big Ten West crown.
