Happened to catch a little of the first football practice. Don't want this on the free board because it was technically not open to the media. Just a few observations: Mark Gooden looked terrific in the pass rush drills. Jalen Smith made a really nice leaping grab over the middle. The Frosh QB Marty has a great arm. Hit Jace James in stride behind the defense on a 50-yard bomb, only to have James drop it. James did have a nice sideline grab though. Aidan Smith was running the second team at QB. Igwebuike picked a high throw by Clayton Thorson. Jeremy Larkin broke a big run with some JJ-type moves. Way too early to draw any conclusions from all this.
