2021 Big Ten schedule changes

The idea of Michigan and OSU or Auburn and Alabama playing two weeks in a row is not a good one for anybody.
Yeah, that's why as imbalanced as SEC divisions are (SEC West 11-1 in past 12 championships), they won't touch the divisions.

Big Ten East/West divisions make sense. Best to just leave it.

Lost in all of this is the relative improvement and decline of teams over an interval of maybe 10 years. Michigan was down, improved with Harbaugh’s hire, collapsed this year. Ind and Cats have had a big upswing. Nebraska went from good to dumpster fire. Five years ago MSU was on a par with PSU. Having divisions as a micro conference builds rivalries and allows teams to improve over time. To scrap them would be idiotic.

If MSU rebuilds, I think swapping them with Purdue and placing them the West divisions would be good for everyone involved.

10 game B1G schedule with 2 non-conference games. Play 6 against your division opponents, 1 against a protected cross division rival and 3 more cross divisional games in home and home series, rotating with the other 3 cross division teams after 2 years-not perfect but every player would get to see every other team during their collegiate career home and away
