Big Ten Tournament

Well, UCLA is up by 22 early in the 2nd half, so I feel pretty good that we're going to be in the BTT. Tomorrow's Nebraska-Iowa game will be extra stressful for those fanbases.
Why will it be stressful for those fan bases/ Aren't both in now that USC lost?

Now root for Iowa and Minnesota if they both win we will be ranked 11th
That is not true.

If Rutgers and Nebraska win (49.6% chance), we will be the 13th seed facing Nebraska with a matchup against Wisconsin if we win.

If Minnesota and Nebraska win (23.4% chance), we will be the 14th seed facing Minnesota with a matchup against Purdue if we win.

If Rutgers and Iowa win (18.4% chance), we will be the 13th seed facing Minnesota with a matchup against Wisconsin if we win.

If Minnesota and Iowa win (8.6% chance), we will be the 15th seed facing Ohio State with a matchup against Illinois if we win.

I want that 13th seed matchup whether it's Nebraska or Minnesota, so go Rutgers!

No, USC is in regardless. If Iowa loses they will be 6-14 with everyone else being 7-13 or better. If Nebraska loses, they are out because they lost to Rutgers, Minnesota, Iowa and USC, so they don't have the tiebreaker over any of them.

Thanks for the info.

I am going by what Smelly wrote in the other thread about this below.
You might have been looking at the line in that thread where NU beats Maryland.

If Iowa and Minnesota win today, NU gets the 15th seed like Cappy said above.

Ah oops! My eye jumped between two lines and i misread. Thanks for the correction!

Cats bracket is brutal. Not like it matters. Was hoping to play Ohio state then the Illini.

I don’t know
Minnesota Wisconsin is not horrible. Wisconsin has lost a lot of games lately, think our chances versus them might be as good or better than Illinois.

From what I see we are #13 facing #12 Minnesota in the 1st Round. If we win then it is on against #5 Wisconsin in the 2nd Round. If we win a second time, then it is on to #4 UCLA in the quarterfinals. Win again, then "Most Likely" would be facing Michigan State in the seminfinals. The first game seems winnable as NU already beat Minnesota on the road. NU can play with anybody in the Big Ten, but the top of the conference going up to the #7 or #8 seed is going to be a challenge regardless. For now, I'm happy to be in the tournament. Hoping for a miracle run to the conference championship title and auto-bid to the Big Dance, but mostly likely is NIT bid.

This was best case scenario to my mind. Not easy but I think our guys look at that bracket and see a path.
Minnesota is much easier opponent than Ohio state.
Wisconsin and Illinois are both tough, but keep in mind Wisconsin is 5 hrs from Indy and Champaign is 2 hrs. Would imagine you’d see more fans there for Illini than you would if we play badgers . Let’s get that first one.

Am very happy the cats made the tournament at all and I like the matchup with Minn, although I believe we do very poorly against them in the tournament historically.

I just don’t know how significant past tournament performances years ago are in terms of predicting this years game result. I would imagine not really that relevant.

Per a Gopher friend:

According to my research, this will be the 9th meeting in the B1G with the Gophers going 6-2 in previous eight.

Just curious, have we ever made a run in this thing? I recall 2017 we made it to Saturday but can’t recall any other successes.
