Head coach David Braun addressed media for the first time in spring ball, along with WR Bryce Kirtz and LB Xander Mueller. Here are our takeaways from what they had to say about their new home venue and more.

The excitement within the coaches and players about the lakefront facility is telling as well. It won’t be something future recruits get to experience, but it’s going to be a hell of a sales piece for the beauty of the school. If it’s a shitshow for fans getting in and out, that’s not going to be a problem for the players and visiting recruits as they walk over from the practice palace next door. It’s going to be an awesome recruiting showcase. Come hang out on the lake, this is just our BACKUP stadium while we finish our NFL level luxury building.

Yeah I went from pitying current students to being jealous. Lakefront stadium for 2 years that should be a packed intimate atmosphere for students should be a blast. It'll feel like Welsh Ryan on the lake.

And then of course, get to move into the NFL quality stadium that will be one of a kind at FBS level.
