In beating Utah, the Cats kept intact a streak where every team that has lost the PAC-12 CCG has gone on to lose its bowl game. The PAC conference expanded in 2011, adding Utah and Colorado, and each of the 8 losers went on to lose their bowl. As a side note, the South Division has only won the championship game once in those 8 years.
