This team lost a lot of talent, that’s obvious. The o-line and linebackers in particular have really struggled. That said - I don’t understand why the coaches don’t adjust.
On offense:
- Help the o-line by running the ball - using some zone read, option plays for misdirection
- We finally have some talent in the WR room. What happened to bubble screens? Or any screens?
- QB draw or two might help as well
On defense blown assignments, consistently biting on play action, and inability to shed blockers in the linebacker group are killing us. Why not put your best players on the field and go with a nickel package as a base? Or at least blitz once in a while. Simplify the scheme for these guys because they are lost.
And the terrible penalties I also blame in part on the coaches. Delay of game on the opening play 🤦🏻♂️
