Right. But it isn't that difficult to evaluate tape with that in mind, as well as using testing results and other metrics to verify athleticism.
I have been patiently waiting for your evaluation of Jango. I know you aren't a big fan, but you have to admit his film is very good against the countries top players.

Yeah, that's not going to happen. At least not in this forum.

And I agree wholeheartedly that IMG has played the best competition in the country. And that Jango will undoubtedly be a better football player for his time spent there for the high level of competition in practice and in games.

But playing at IMG doesn't automatically make a prospect better than others elsewhere. Recruiting staffs and coaches literally make their livelihood in evaluating prospects on a number of factors, just one of which is level of competition.

Pretty sure Hudl highlight reels aren't actually used by coaches, and they request full game tapes of players they are evaluating. Could be wrong, but that's what I've always assumed. Am I an idiot or is this right?

A top defensive coordinator evaluated Jango's film and I wanted to see how closely you and him matched. You post your evaluation, and I will post the Coaches after yours. Everyone can compare the two.

Yes and no. Some guys are good enough athletes on highlight tapes to be "no doubt" offers. If there's any question about a recruit, coaches will do an in-person evaluation and/or watch at least three full game tapes to verify their evaluation one way or another.

Going to pass on that. Literally no good can come of it.

Suffice to say that I'm glad Jango is developing as a football player against the best competition there is on offer and glad he's chosen NU as the college where he will continue his football career.

Does Jango have senior film yet?

So do u only post on players that you evaluate that you think are good?

You didn't answer my question, but to answer yours, I do think it would be best for you and your son if you didn't post on these boards anymore. We get that you're proud of your son, as you should be, but you've been in the middle of pissing matches and it's not a good look. I'm sure Fitz and Co. would agree

Can you go ahead and post the top DC's evaluation anyways? Anonymously of course.

You are correct and I appreciate the advice. Probably not comfortable for most on here to have a recruit parent on here either.

It's always good to have Cat fans on this board. My only caution is to not take anything personally (this applies to any online community).

I watched Jango's 2015 tape one time. He strikes me as a very disciplined player who understands position responsibility very well. His tackling appears fundamentally very sound as he constantly breaks down and does not overrun plays. He seems to move well laterally and has some closing burst.

That's first blush. Will watch again later.

If you haven't watched Alex MIller's senior year highlight's in the Alief Elsik game, you are missing out. Wow, this kid is a player. Once again some of our lower star rated recruits seem to be the best recruits we have in my opinion.
He had a monster game there. All over the field with a strip, sack, and several TFLs. Why was he playing off the LOS at end?

Certainly looks the part of a run-oriented DT. He's pretty hefty now, but looks like a college strength program would really help prepare him. He seems to have a great motor too.

I know GCG personally very well and I totally understand why he doesn't want to evaluate your son's tape. You're a very passionate man and I don't know a father who wouldn't defend his son to the hilt on a message board. It's a bad idea as you'll get the wrong idea of him, as possibly referenced by your comment about him only reviewing tape of prospects he likes. Secondly you will get upset if he sees any flaws in your son's game and says so. It's a lose-lose for you both and you both deserve better than that.

Looking forward to seeing you and your son in Purple next fall.

Bump for Lees' tape vs. Stevenson. Look at that kid run.

Jeez. Smooth as butter. Reminds me a bit of JJ. Smooth as a baby's butt without the smell. Upper body is totally quiet as he blows by defenders. So smooth. Did I say he's really smooth?

Will be fun to see him the wildcat on some type of sprint rollout, maybe with a wheel route using AA (once he learns how to block) or Vitale. Just get Lees in some space with the ball.

I watched some of RCB's tape of his senior, and came away more impressed than when I watched his junior tape. He is a physical guy with a big frame, but with good feet and body control. Seems to have a mean streak on the field. I like the fact that he is used on defense and returns. He does not have blunding speed, and his ability to gain separation is a concern, but I see why the Cats offered.
