DRAFTED

Amazing for Brooks! Amazing for Collins and our program. Gonna be an uphill climb to crack the Thunder’s roster but if anyone can do it, it’s our man.

I am still thrilled to be completely wrong about him being drafted. That's awesome! It makes me wonder what shape he's in. Did he get in some great workouts for them before the draft, or were they going entirely on his past performance in the B1G?

BROOKS BARNHIZER
Amazing!!

I was on the fence but I have zero problem for the Thunder dynasty as long as Barnhizer’s on their team.

I have a couple of friends from Oklahoma whom I need to catch up with. What a great reason to call them, even if he’s from Indiana…

Well, that OKC front office proved this season they clearly know their shit, so that speaks well about Brooks!

Great team to go to. Unfortunately, there’s no room on that roster, they literally have everybody from this year under contract next year so he’ll have to play in the G league and be patient.
I was wondering about this, is it actually a bad landing spot because they're already so deep? Sounds like kinda, yeah.

Ari Wasserman reported on a livestream last night that OKC offered a draft guarantee but that BB's camp was uncertain about whether to take it. (Some players don't want to be picked in the second round so they can choose their situation as undrafted free agents.) He didn't say whether the two sides had reached an arrangement before the pick or whether OKC was picking him anyway. Regardless, I love Brooks going to the G-League for a few years under the NBA's best developmental franchise. If he can improve his outside shooting and sharpen the other skills he already has, he's going to stick somewhere.

Jeremy Woo ends up on the Darren Rovell List for Disappointing NU Alumni ...

That is how an article is supposed to be written. He only give Barny a B+ but praises him enthusiastically through out the article. It's just the kind of thing fans love to read.

Barnhizer will be a high 30s percent 3 pt shooter in the NBA. His 3 pt shooting is the only knock on him in the draft.

He shot 40% from 3 in high school his senior year and 45% from 3 his jr year (max preps) (albeit a few feet shorter in hs). We needed his length and rebounding on offense so he played closer to the basket. We also had Ty Berry as a sharp shooter and Langborg for a year as a sharp shooter so there was less need for him to take 3s.

The guy will take at least 10,000 3s this summer practicing. He has a fluid stroke and phenomenal work ethic.

Vic Law brought his 3 pt shooting up to 40% in the G League for the Magic taking almost 6 per game and making almost 2.5.

It happens because that is what they are focusing on.

Brooks was a PG in high school. He played what we needed him to play, the 3 position.

He will grow into what the NBA needs him to play. He will improve and be an effective 3 pt shooter, 3 and D player.

There is a need for that kind of player.

I watched the reporter's live stream after OKC picked him. They looked at his stats from his senior year without knowing that he was injured at the beginning of the year and missed several games. He was probably hurt the whole year. Sr year stats meant nothing.

I think he will develop into a solid player.

Go Cats and congrats Brooks. You earned it.
