EA Sports on Thursday will begin allowing athletes to opt in to have their name, image and likeness appear in "EA Sports College Football 25." The players will each receive $600 plus a copy of the video game.

Love it. Some dude (probably lots of dudes) on the Internet used to sell a thumb drive or a memory card with all players named. So I won Heismans with Basanez, and not NW QB #14.

My brother bought the memory card. I assume he mailed a check and then received the goods in the mail? Wild times those were, the mid-00s.

NCAA football was a lot of fun - I used to take over MAC programs, dominate the Big Ten & ND, and force the conference to invite me (I once tricked its native AI into replacing OSU with Kent State).

I wish I had more time to justify an “investment” in a new gaming system to partake. You kids have fun.
