FBS coaches unanimously in favor of December signing period. Signing date would be the 3rd Wednesday in December.

The AFCA supported it. Don't think they collected votes from all coaches. Berry's claims of unanimous FBS support seem a bit hyperbolic.

What does moving the signing date up just two months accomplish? Why not make it September, before a recruits senior season begins?
Maybe kids will skip out on their Senior year of HS ball just like college guys skipping bowls?
That doesn't make sense. Getting to college earlier would mean potentially getting to the pros earlier.
Then it is before semester/quarter-end and would therefore make mid-year enrollment easier.
