EVAN HULL, THE ATHLETIC

Those are awesome numbers. Happy for him and his draft/free agent prospects.

Maddening thought that we had 4 guys who tested among the top athletes in the entire NFL combine, period, and we went 1-11. It used to be that we had no guys of that pure athleticism but we won a lot because of coaching and teamwork. Now we have athletes but the coaches failed in scheme and development as a whole.

Watched some of the coverage yesterday. The NFL Network crew doing play-by-play (??) of the combine were loving Evan. They had a lot of fun with him taking it to the endzone on every drill. I can imagine some thinking it was a little hackey for him to do, but Rich Eisen then explained the origin on that practice by Hull. Something he developed at Northwestern during practice. He certainly got a lot more camera time and mentions than just about any other RB because of that, so hackey or not, he got attention. The article linked above mentions it too.
